Senior Cyber Security Analyst

Our growing team is seeking an experienced professional to join our Agency as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst. This role helps ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our agency’s data by monitoring and assessing security risks. The Senior Cyber Security Analyst will also design and implement information security programs, procedures and policies.

  • Manage security solutions such as Security Information and Event Management
  • Provide Level 2 analysis and support for security events, incidents and activities
  • Review network, computers, applications and other IT systems to ensure compliance with pertinent policies, laws and regulations
  • Configure, integrate and deploy new security solutions and enhancements
  • Research and deploy information security hardware, software and hosted solutions
  • Participate in investigations of security breaches
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cyber Security or related field; demonstrated accomplishments and certifications will be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Three to five years of experience in secure network and system configuration, security architecture, risk management and/or security operations
  • Relevant industry certification such as Security+, Network+, CISSP or GIAC preferred
  • Knowledge of system, application and network vulnerabilities and associated countermeasures
  • Knowledge of various operations systems, current network technologies, architectures, protocols and standards; encryption; security products and tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • Analytical ability sufficient to evaluate processes, procedures, and data and make recommendations accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and implement projects
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Superior negotiation, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position
  • Must be able to occasionally move about the office to retrieve files and documents
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information accordingly.
  • Minimal travel required
