We are hiring a System Engineer IV to design, develop, and maintain complex cloud-based technology that supports our mission and strategic objectives. In this position, you will:

  • Design, develop, implement and support cloud and hybrid architecture for web services, development and production systems, and security systems
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure and develop technical cloud-based solutions that achieve business objectives while ensuring the security of data
  • Configure and implement  hybrid configurations for integration between on-premise systems and cloud services
  • Perform hardening and upgrading for cloud-hosted and on-premise Windows and Linux servers and networks
  • Implement and integrate enterprise-wide systems that meet Agency goals
  • Mentor junior engineers to support their skill development and professional growth
  • Continuously develop your skills through agency-paid professional development opportunities

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
  • 10+ years in technical role such as programming, database administration, system administration or data warehousing
  • Significant experience implementing and supporting cloud architecture
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems on a variety of operating systems
  • Ability to interpret business needs and recommend technical solutions that meet those needs
  • Knowledge of security best practices and standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, sufficient to explain complex technical problems to diverse audiences

Work Environment:

  • Works in a typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying
  • Must be able to occasionally move about the office to retrieve files and documents
  • Frequently communicate with team members; must be able to exchange accurate information accordingly
  • Occasional travel required
  • Some nights and weekends required
