William E. Eastburn

A resident of Newport News since 1966, Bill attended the University of Virginia, and graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1984 with a BA in International Culture and Commerce, minoring in Economics.

Bill has undertaken extensive education in financial planning and investments, culminating with his achieving the CFP® designation in 2012.

Additionally, Bill has been a Trustee for the Newport News Employee Retirement Fund for over 4 years, and is now the Vice-Chairman. He has also served on various board committees.

Although Bill has volunteered in many capacities, and for different organizations over the years, his longest-running commitment has been to serve as a Sponsor for the International Maritime Officers’ Program (IMOC) at the Yorktown US Coast Guard base for over 20 years. In this role, he’s acted as a sponsor for over 50 foreign naval officers attending the course.

Bill is also an active member of the Sister Cities of Newport News organization.

Bill is a Certified Financial Planner® at Langley Federal Credit Union, and has been serving members’ investment, insurance, and financial planning needs since 1995.

Prior to that, he worked at Nations Securities, a division of Nations Bank, predecessor to Bank of America.
