Our growing team is seeking an HR Coordinator to make a direct impact on employee experience and community engagement by coordinating full cycle HR operations and supporting community programs.

In this position, you will:

  • Oversee and execute HR processes including pay and benefits administration, onboarding and offboarding, new employee orientation, training, record keeping and policy maintenance
  • Support HR Business Partners with talent acquisition by posting job opportunities, sourcing candidates, helping complete phone screens, scheduling interviews, and organizing job files
  • Assist employees with inquiries related to HR processes, policies, and initiatives
  • Proactively communicate HR updates and relevant topics to keep employees up to date and engaged with HR programs
  • Lead the planning and implementation of agency volunteerism and agency events to contribute to an engaged work environment
  • Support the Program Manager of our early commitment scholarship program by tracking student data, responding to student inquiries, running reports, and analyzing program data

Successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of experience providing professional and administrative support to an HR department; an equivalent combination of skills and experience will be considered
  • Experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Cardinal HRIS/Payroll system a plus
  • Experience in fast paced, and flexible work environment providing service to customers, employees, and/or vendors
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship building skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and their practical application in a public work environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Analytical ability in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work on a team that delivers a high-availability level of service

Work Environment:

  • This position may work a hybrid schedule, with few days per week onsite in our office
  • Typical office environment with considerable time in a sitting, stationary position
  • Must be able to occasionally move about the office to retrieve files and documents
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office equipment including typing and keying
  • Frequently communicate with employees, vendors, and applicants; must be able to exchange accurate information accordingly
  • Occasional travel required
