Ryan Woodzell

Ryan Woodzell of Hot Springs has always valued education. Though his parents didn’t go to college, they always emphasized the importance of school and communicated the significance of higher education. This commitment to schooling pushed Ryan to graduate first in his class from Bath County High School and earn a full scholarship to Emmanuel College, a Christian liberal arts school in Georgia. Ryan studies clinical psychology and hopes to work in a hospital, as he loves helping others – a passion that was nurtured by SOAR Virginia’s many community service opportunities. When asked about the best part of the program, Ryan commented, "It helped to have set guidelines. They really gave me the extra boost to succeed."
