Richmond resident and Thomas Jefferson High School graduate Tatiana Bryant was always taught to value education. Her mother, a single parent, emphasized that school was the number–one priority. This lesson stuck with Tatiana, and she now pursues degrees in marketing and education at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. She also participates in a work study with Blackboard Learning Systems, where she develops and administers tutorials to both students and faculty. She knows that this focus on education and classroom communication will aid her as she works toward a job in speech pathology. Her experience with SOAR Virginia served to ensure she was on the right track for college. "It was nice to have someone who will really help you along the way," she remarked.
